Mud Mania

The kids have been counting down the days for Mud Mania!  The girls got muddy and Aiden just wanted to play in the sand.  Figures.  He said, "I don't want to be all orange."  Hey, that's one less muddy kid.  I can dig it..get it?  Dig it?  Okay...I'll pretend that was funny.
I love this little video of Brian tossing Riley in the mud.  Thunk. CLICK HERE (the thing is being screwy and not letting me post the video directly).

Maddex and I just sat in the grass and watched from a safe non-muddy distance.  I didn't take any pictures of her on Saturday, but here's one from this morning.  I like them when they're clean...

Six and Six

So a full week hasn't gone by yet, but I'm finally getting around to Ella's birthday!  My not-so-little-girl-anymore is 6 years old!  Who am I kidding though, she quit being little when she was 2.

Her much anticipated 'Luau Party' was great!  She knew exactly what she wanted and wasn't shy about giving me the tasks.  This girl is a planner!  I actually don't have very many pictures.  Ella had gone around with the video camera showing off all of her party stuff.  After the party was over I went to watch it, but there was only 3 seconds.  Guess she hit the button without realizing it.  Oh well.  I'm sure she'll remember it for the rest of her life anyway...
Here's a little blurb of the girls dancing...Dancing at Ella's Party

Ella designed the cake herself.  She drew it out carefully and made sure I knew one side was yellow for sand and the other side blue for the ocean.  We went to the store and she picked out chocolate cake mix and blue frosting with fish sprinkles.  That was kind of perfect.  I also liked her choice of candles.  I was instructed to make 2 palm trees and a hula girl that looked like her. I'm so glad my scrap-booked, laminated with a toothpick stuck on the back figures were acceptable.

I should have gotten a picture of her with her beloved Lily (a Build-a-Bear tiger that she got for her birthday-a surprise date with her Aunt Erika).  Lily hardly got put down.  But there is this other thing she got from her grandparents that she was very excited about...

I have failed to mention that both her AND Aiden are on 2 wheels.  They learned to ride without training wheels on the same day.  It's actually been several weeks now, just after Aiden got his new bike.  I finally gave them the old heave-ho and with one big push they both just pedaled off.  That's the great thing about them being so close together.  I'll snag a 2 for 1 any chance I get.

Guess who else turned 6 over the weekend!  Maddex made it half a year!  I'd like to give a big shout out to Aiden because I'm not sure I could have done it without him.  I'm not ready for him to leave me for kindergarten!  Wahhhh!
