Most of the time all I could see of the kids were just their silhouettes. It was kind of whimsical actually. Here's a little video montage of our trip. We had a great time.
Do I have anything to gain from this? Not really, but I like the idea of getting my thoughts out there. Hopefully other moms will read this and see that you are not alone. My kids are crazy too.

The Beach in January
Mid-January, with a high of 77. Seriously? So we seized this bizarre warm weekend by going to the beach! We decided around midnight on Friday night to take this spur of the moment trip. Charleston really isn't that far away (just under 2 hours) and we snagged a cheap hotel off of Priceline. Saturday morning we got things packed up and took off to the Isle of Palms. The kids were so excited! Sunday morning the fog was so thick. I loved Maddex's little fluff of hair as soon as the mist hit it. Like dew on a spider web.

Smiles
Maddex is two months old today, and I'm happy to say she SMILES! She started throwing real ones out just before Christmas and hasn't stopped since. I might even venture out to say that I think she's getting a little cute, but don't tell Brian. He still thinks she's in 'the phase'...you know, the ugly one. Too harsh? We love her anyway.
I try and try to get her smiling, but as soon as she sees the camera I've lost her. I was able to get some video though of her this morning. Don't worry, I'll spare you from my baby talk and replace it with some music that'll give you the warm and fuzzies.
You know that scene in Tarzan where the mother gorilla looks at the baby and then they both go "ehuh?". This is that face.
